Each forum can have an unlimited number of sub-forums and you can determine whether each may be posted to or not (i.e. whether it acts like an old category). Here you can add, edit, delete, lock, unlock individual forums as well as set certain additional controls. If your posts and topics have got out of sync you can also resynchronise a forum. Did you check the IP to see if it was the EXACT same IP as before? He could be using a proxy to get around the ip ban.

I don’t know at the moment. Try banning his email address. Then it would be a hassle to re-register. If it keeps happening, you may want to submit an IIT report and let the phpBB team see how he’s getting in. why arent my ranks updating when i change the default user group? like i have a rank for each user group and it doesnt change from the old when when i move them to another default group ? i would be good if you could just use an option in each users rank profile such as “use default user group rank” otherwise it doesnt change when i move them to another group for some reason though marshalrusty when say i set the time zone from +9 to +10 it only go’s up 10 minutes in time time and not an hour

I’ve got a large problem than usual. I have a tree structure of groups (in terms of hierarchy). The level just under global moderator each also have their own group, and are also of course Registered Members. The higher level has a PMB limit of 500, but they weren’t showing that, they were still showing the Registered Member number. So I changed their default group to the high-level group…. …One thing that seems to have happened is that all of their profiles no long have an avatar. why would changing a user’s default group delete their avatar? and how do I relate the .jpg name in the database backup for a user’s avatar to the huge filenames in the uploaded avatars that bear no resemblance?

Changing a user’s group has nothing to do with the avatar, so that should make no difference whatsoever I don’t understand your second question. The avatar filename stored should be the filename of the avatar

no, all the filenames in the upload directory are like 211caece90cf93bb063288060cbdfe0b_108.jpg, and none of the avatar names in the db are like that well, this whole group of people had avatars until i changed their default group to a group with an avatar, now the avatar entry in their profiles is blank i had changed their default group to a group that coincidentally has an avatar, because this group allowed more PMBs, then they all complained that this group’s avatar was showing instead of their individual ones, so I deleted the group avatar, now they have no individual one in their profiles

so the little site/forum description that appears on the top.. how do you change that in the admin panel? i don’t see a setting for it… also to change yourname.com

just figured it out, i had my config file renamed and buried under a more secure path, but the update file doesn’t request the location, it just assumes it’s in the root of phpbb under the name config perhaps there’s a way to replace the line ” include($phpbb_root_path . ‘config.’.$phpEx); ” in the update file with something that calls the path and name info for the config file as set in the common.php, but i dunno.. thx anyways
